One of the recent updates to Twitter includes the ability to receive “Direct Message” from any Twitter user. Previously users were forced to follow each other to send a direct message, brands had to follow all their fans so they could use the Direct Message for their Customer Service.
You must authorize the Direct Message to allow everybody understand the people you do not follow in turn contact you.
The function is disabled by default in the settings, go to Security and Privacy settings to enable the feature.
